Following up on the previous post on attending the Richard Tapia Celebration Conference 2016, here are pictures I took of the beautiful city of Austin during my short stay this September.
For people coming on this post because they are looking up for 4Days Austin Travel Itineray, you are probably at the wrong place. Even if we ended up staying in Austin for four days, we were at the conference venue for most parts. Here are pictures I took in Austin during our last day, which was only a few hours of tourist time.
Since we had to catch our flight later in the afternoon, we didn’t have much time to properly visit the city. We hence decided to book with a local tour called Double Decker Austin. It costs about 25$USD. The tour includes a tour guide and the ride across most famous attractions in Austin.
While waiting for the bus of Double Decker to arrive, we waited at the local gift shop/tourism info center.
The tour of the city. The bus drove us around to the following landmarks:
- 6th Street + Museum of the Weird
- Texas State Capitol
- LBJ Presidential Library and Museum
- Bullock Texas State History Museum
- South Congress District
For the bus ride, you can also opt to do the Hop Off Tour option which allows you to get off from the bus at any of their stop and ride back on again later.
The street food I was able to try out for lunch. Two of the famous Tacos from Torchy’s. It was both cheap and delicious, totally worth it! ❤
Orea flavoured ice cream from the famous Amy’s Ice Cream. One of the best point about Austin and Texas is the huge amount of food truck everywhere.
We also had about an hour visiting the streets of Austin which was a lot of fun. We walked on the South side of the city, which was beautiful and full of local shops.
After midnight the next day, we finally arrived back to Montreal.
